Therefore, if OpenDiag does not connect to the ECU, there is no need to “kick” it with other programs that connect. They communicate with the ECU using the OBD-II standard. OpenDiag communicates via the ECU protocol and requires the full functionality of the original ELM327. The OBD-II standard is supported by the program in its simplest form, select the OBD-II unit and connect!
